Yesterday marked the beginning of the second phase of the provincial government’s generic drug pricing policy in Newfoundland and Labrador. Generic drugs will now be priced at no more than 40% of the brand price. The province has also now finalized an agreement with the Pharmacists’ Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (PANL) to reinvest approximate $37 million in pharmacies across the province. More information from the Department of Health and Community Services can be found on the government’s website.
