On September 5, 2023, the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA) announced the appointment of Douglas Clark as its first CEO, effective September 11, 2023. Clark was Executive Director of the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB) for almost a decade before he resigned from that position earlier this year.

As CEO, Clark will lead pCPA in accordance with its current Strategic Plan 2022 – 2024 and to establish a new one now that its transition to an independent organization is complete. His immediate focus areas will be “to share more updates, formalize pathways to expedite negotiations and collaborate with various public and private sector partners on initiatives that align with the organization’s strategic priorities”.
