Background: Announced in the 2018 federal budget, the Advisory Council on the Implementation of National Pharmacare is engaging Canadians to discuss how the federal government could implement affordable national pharmacare. As part of this dialogue, the Council sought written responses to its discussion paper Towards Implementation of National Pharmacare, including questions about who should be covered, which drugs should be covered and who should pay for the coverage. Written consultation comments were due by September 28, 2018. Input received from this and the Council’s other consultation activities will inform its report to the federal ministers of health and finance in Spring 2019.
